Live Space
LIIVE SPACE
is a week-long event dedicated to the training of electronic and electroacoustic music performers and creators within a dynamic society. The focus of the project is mainly on the exploration of sophisticated spatial sound systems, and how this technology can be transformed into art—whether through fixed media or live performance.
Live Space is a week‑long international LMTA workshop promoting ambisonic and multi‑channel sound, bringing together students and lecturers to create immersive art and public events throughout Vilnius (April 19–26, 2026).
All concerts are part of Live Space — an international week‑long LMTA workshop (April 19–26, 2026) that gathers students and lecturers from top European institutions to investigate ambisonics, 360° sound and immersive media, culminating in collaborative works presented across Vilnius.

Program:
Live space - Solos 04/20 —
Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museum (Vilniaus st. 41)
Palle Dahlstedt, Jussi Tuohino, and Hans‑Gunter Lock perform three solo improvisations, each offering a distinct, spontaneous exploration of spatial sound and live electronics. This unique evening lets both workshop participants and the public hear how leading lecturers translate ambisonic and multi‑channel techniques into immediate, personal performances.
Live space - Alumni 04/21 —
Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museum (Vilniaus st. 41)
Alumni spotlight: Edvinas Siliūnas and Domantas Pūras present two solo acts showcasing the artistic paths forged after their Live Space experiences, each performance blending electroacoustic textures with spatialisation techniques. This evening highlights how the workshop’s methods develop creative careers and inspire new solo practices.
Live space - Electronic Duo 04/23 —
“Organum” (Savanorių pr. 1)
Ignas Šoliūnas and Domantas Pūras join forces as an electronic music duo, presenting a concentrated set that functions as a band performance—interweaving live processing, multi‑channel dynamics, and immersive spatial effects. Their duo format emphasizes collaborative interplay and the workshop’s focus on translating ambisonic techniques into ensemble contexts.
Live space - Teachers in performance 04/24 —
Small Pavilion (LMTA studijų miestelis) (Olandų g. 21A)
Teachers’ concert in two parts: (a) fixed‑media works composed by our workshop lecturers followed by an ensemble improvisation by the lecturers’ group, and (b) a featured doctoral artistic project by Matas Samulionis. The program juxtaposes composed, studio‑based ambisonic pieces with real‑time collective improvisation, offering insight into both professional practice and experimental research.
Live space - Final Concert 04/25 —
Small Pavilion (LMTA studijų miestelis) (Olandų g. 21A)
Students’ concert: compositions and performances developed during the Live Space workshop, presenting the collaborative, experimental projects created by participant groups over the week. This showcase reveals how hands‑on work with spatial sound systems and mentorship by international lecturers translates into finished immersive pieces. The concert is the public culmination of Live Space (April 19–26, 2026), LMTA’s week‑long international event that brings together European conservatoires to advance ambisonic practice, 360° audio and immersive media in Vilnius.
