This presentation explores how collaboration between composer and performer evolves within a shared co-laboratory environment. In such contexts, the performer’s role shifts from interpreter to co-creator, and performativity itself becomes shaped through interaction and collective decision-making.
Drawing from artistic research, it engages with a range of co-creative situations involving performers, composers, and artists from other fields. Combining artistic ethnography, practice-based research, and case studies, it traces how collaboration shapes the work and influences those involved in it.
At its core, the presentation looks at what might be called a “group genius” – and how such a state of shared flow can emerge within collaborative practice.
